Super Sentai is a  children's show produced in Japan (BY Toi. ) . It centers around a team of five heros who fight evil aliens, monster's demons ect... Each year the story, characters, and villians change. Super Sentai fottage is used to create the Power Rangers TV Show in the US.

Super Sentai began in  1975 with GoRanger and continued the following year with JAKQ/ At this time the show was known just as Sentai. After the first two years Sentai was canceled.

A year later the show was brouhht back as Super Sentai, in the series called Battle J Fever. This series was a success and Super Sentai would continue to produce yearly series  till today.

Super Sentai should not be confused with the genre of Sentai. The Genre of Sentai usually involvesd a team or a single hero whp fights evil  forces. Super Sentai is only a show in that genre. Shows like Kamen Rider, Gransazar, Ptetty Gaudian Sailor Moon and Ultraman. are also in the Sentai genre. They have nothing to do with Super Sentai besides maybe being prioduced by the same produvtion company.

Haim Saban purchased Super Sentai footage to be produced into a US version of the show. After many years his show was picked up and became the Might Morphyng Power Rangers. Sentai remained an indpendent enity but Saban had rights to use the action footage in America. Much later Disney bought Power Rangers and has the rights to the deal, under one of its subsideray's.

Super Sentai was allowd to show more vionlet and adult situations. Since the Japesnse cultire didn't hide those things as much form their children. They think kids shows should teach their kids apropiate behavior in those matters.

Super Sentai celebrated its 20th annivesry with Mira Sentai TimeRanger. This featured a special that looked back at all the Super Sentai series up to that point. Currently MagiRanger is airing. The producers of Power Rangers have had a key hand in producing MagiRanger.  It is a  landmark that for the fitst time the producers of PR and Sentai are working together so closely.
